Mover + Shaker = Eli + Shaker or Mover = Eli

Thought I'd throw a little algebra in there for you mathmatics fanatics.

Last night I woke Mommy up for my 2 a.m. feeding and this is how she found me:

This is NOT how Mommy laid me down to sleep. I somehow managed to scoot 90 degrees to the left while Mommy was sleeping. I'm a sneaky little bugger. In fact, when Mommy woke up, the first thing she said was "What the hell, Eli?" I think she was surprised! You'll also notice I got my arm out of my straightjacket blanket. That's twice now! Mommy's not sure how I'm able to do these things at my age, and I'm not telling...

This morning I showed Mommy another new trick. If you put something in my hand, I can hold onto it!

Yesterday vs. Today

Yesterday I was SO good! I spent most of the morning watching the window:

I even let Mommy take a picture of my belly button. She thinks it's the cutest belly button she's ever seen.

But today has been a different story. I have been very, very cranky. Mommy's confused because she thought babies were supposed to take lots of naps, but I don't like to take naps unless it's in Mommy's sling or on her belly. The minute she puts me in the basinette I wake up and start crying. It's a fun game I like to play. I played that game today until Mommy FINALLY gave up trying to get me to sleep in the basinette (after an hour and a half of crying and being soothed and then crying again). So Mommy finally put on her sling and I'm off to snoozeland!

Don't mind my skin. I've got a terrible case of baby acne thanks to Mommy's hormones. It'll clear up soon enough and I'll be handsome as ever!

Big Weekend!

I went to Madison for the first time this weekend! I like it there. I'm super popular. First we visited Grandma Helen and Grandpa Gene. I surprised Grandma Helen with my first tattoo! Don't worry, it's fake. Mommy and Daddy thought it would be funny. I did too.

They threw a party just for me! I was a hit. Everyone wanted to hold me. I was very quiet and good. I also got to meet my Uncle Gene. He's cool. He can vibrate just like the car and put me right to sleep!

I slept so well that night, and the next morning. Daddy didn't get much sleep though. Look how tired he is.

Grandma Helen really wanted to play and tried her hardest to wake me up, but I just wanted to sleep.

On Saturday morning we went to visit my Great-Grandma Berch. That was fun! I was awake for Great-Grandma Berch and Daddy told her all about how Grandma Helen tried to wake me up that morning.

On Saturday afternoon we went to visit my Grandma and Grandpa Larson. Grandpa Larson was afraid to hold me because I'm so little, but even if he wanted to I don't think Grandma would have handed me over. She LOVES to hold me!

That night my Uncle Kyle and Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Ben, Aunt Heidi and my cousins Bennie and Joseph came to visit me. First Uncle Kyle got to hold me.

Then Bennie and Joseph got to hold me! I told you I was popular! They did such a good job that I almost fell asleep on them.

On Sunday, we went to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Schehr. It was the first time I met them. I really like them.

Grandpa fed me, so I liked him right away!

Then my Uncle Jason and Aunt Lindsey came to visit me. Uncle Jason didn't seem to sure about me at first, but I won him over.

The other really cool thing that happened this weekend is that Mommy finally got some pictures of herself and me! Usually, she's the one taking pictures.

We also got a nice picture of our family. Doesn't Mommy look tired?

Now I'M tired! Time for a nap!

Three Weeks!

I'm three weeks old today! I'm already getting to be a big boy. Mommy noticed today that I can fit into some of my 0-3 month clothes already! No more "newborn" for me!

She seriously would not leave me alone with the video camera today. See what I mean?

Mommy also took these super cute pictures of me:

Mommy says I'm the cutest baby ever born, and that's why she can't stop with the photos and videos already.

Mommy can't help it

She simply MUST put videos of me up every day. Even if they are repeats of subject matter. I'm just too cute not to.

Me with the hiccups (again!) and a bad case of the squirmies:

And here I am with my mirror (again!). That other baby was making me ANGRY.

I had the squirmies this morning. Mommy thinks I'm going to be an excellent dancer!

Things that fill Eli with rage ...

1. Bathtime.

2. Having to roll over.

(On the other hand, how cool is it that I can already roll over?)

Yay! My kidneys work!

I had an xray today to see if my kidneys worked right, since they looked a little big before I was born. The test was awful. They had to catheterize me (they had to try LOTS of times before they could get it in all the way because I was clenching all my little muscles), and then they had to strap me down to do the xray. I hated it. Mommy couldn't even be in the room with me, but Daddy stayed with me and held my hand. But Mommy and Daddy think the test was worth it because now we know my kidneys work great.

And for your viewing enjoyment, more ME!

I like to make faces in my sleep.

Grandma Kenny was right, I DO have strawberry blonde hair!

I sleep a lot

I'm Two Weeks Old!

And just look at me! I can almost hold my head up already because I am the strongest baby on earth.

Also, I love my swing.

So does Marley.

I also enjoy taking cat naps with daddy.

First Post!

Eli & his floor gym at 9 days:

Eli with the hiccups:

And some more photos. My little man is the cutest. I can't help but show him off.

Things are slowly settling down around here. Every day is a teeny bit easier. I'm getting a little more used to the crazy sleep schedule and am feeling less tired. I've also figured out how to use the sling and now have the use of my hands again. And today Eli laid in his crib for an hour just watching his mobile. And right now he's chilling in his swing, asleep. The first time we tried out the swing he did NOT like it, but apparently he's changed his mind in the last few days. That's fine by me. :)
